Delegates, registered accompanying persons and exhibitors are cordially invited to join in.

A specific optional tours programme has been tailor-made for regularly registered participants and accompanying persons. These visits will be an excellent opportunity to discover some of the most outstanding artistic and historic highlights of Paris and its surroundings.

 

Be guided through Paris intense and rich culture and enjoy its exquisite art-de-vivre!

  • All tours will be conducted in English.
  • All tours are half day excursions.
  • The organisers reserve the right to cancel tours with less than 10 participants.

V1 WALKING TOUR LA DEFENSE

Thursday 10 September 10:00 to 12:00
Prices: Walking tour 30€ pp for delegates and price included into the spouses registration fees.

 

Departure with your guide from the CNIT for the walking visit of the Parvis de la Défense.

La Défense, an ultra-modern business center, has been created in the West of the Capital over 30 years ago. Beside CNIT takes place the "la Grande Arche", a huge cube, 110 m high and 70 m wide (The whole of Notre-Dame cathedral would fit in its frame). Various ministries have their offices in the massive supporting pillars, the human rights commission (Fondation des Droits de l'Homme) and world-renowned business companies have their office there. If the weather permits we will go up with the lift to "La Grande Arche". The platform covering 40 ha calles the "parvis" is decorated with works of art from both well known and unknown artists such us: Lhotse, Fenosa, Leygue, Calder, Miro, Takis and Cesar who have each contributed together with fountains and mosaics to the decoration of this concrete and glass environment. It constitutes one of the largest open-air museums of contemporary art in the World. To sign up for tours, please tick corresponding box on the registration form.

 

 

V2 CITY TOUR OF PARIS (by coach)

Departure by coach for a sight seeing tour of Paris: The Arc de Triomphe, Chaillot Palace, the Eiffel Tower, The Military Academy and the Invalides, the immense Place de la Concorde, the Louvre Museum, the Opera House and the famous Champs Elysées are the most marvelous monuments that one can admire.

 

 

V3 Visit of the "Château de Malmaison"
Friday 11 September 10:00 to 13:00

Prices: Tour 45€ pp for delegates and price included into the spouses registration fees.

 

Josephine Bonaparte purchased the Malmaison estate in 1799. Built at the beginning of the 18th Century it was re arranged by Napoleon and Josephine and decorated to their taste.
It was there that the Consul spent the happiest part of his married life. Josephine, abandoned by the Emperor, spent the rest of her life at the Malmaison which is impregnated with her memory.

 

Cancellation Policies

 

All cancellations must be notified in writing to the Congress Office according to the following conditions:

  • Up to August 15, 2009: 50% of the fees paid will be withheld.
  • After August 15, 2009: no refund will be issued.
